More cops face corruption charges
Two more policemen are behind bars as they await a decision from the Director of Public Prosecutions regarding the charges against them.
The two constables attached to St. Catherine North police Division were nabbed and slapped with corruption charges on the weekend.
Reports are that at 5:45 p.m. on Friday October 3, police from the Anti Corruption Branch carried out a sting operation at Eltham Park, St. Catherine.
During the exercise, the two constables were seen accepting $8,000 from a man.
When accosted, one of the constables reportedly alighted from the service vehicle and ran.
Later that day, he turned himself in to the police in the presence of his attorney.
The other constable was held and taken to the Spanish Town Police Station.
More than thirty members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force have been arrested on corruption charges since the start of the year.
