Grenada land deal probe

Published:Monday | October 6, 2008 | 5:39 PM

The Grenada government said it will not be pushing for a further review of a land deal involving British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton.

The government had earlier called for an investigation into the deal which was brokered between the former Keith Mitchell administration and Hamilton.

The deal was in exchange for using the racing star\'s image and name at a resort.

However concerns were raised after it was discovered that no money for the transaction which took place the day before the July 8 general elections, ended up in the Treasury.

The administration of Prime Minister Tillman Thomas has since been scrutinising a number of land deals negotiated by the government of former prime minister Dr Keith Mitchell.
