St. Ann Parish Council rejects cell site

The St. Ann Parish Council has rejected an application by communication provider Miphone to have four more cellular sites erected across the parish.

The council and Miphone have been at odds for a number of weeks now following the erection of several cellular towers for which no approval was granted.

The Council has indicated that it will be going to the courts to get an injunction against Miphone.

Councillor for the Beecher Town division, Ian Bell, in whose area two of the sites are being built, said the council would not grant the approval until it is satisfied that all the guidelines are followed.

Mr. Bell said the council would be moving to ensure that MiPhone holds full consultation with residents before consideration is given for approval.
