Prime Minister Bruce Golding requested that the police review the reported cases of missing children to see what progress has been made in finding these children.
He wants the Ministry of National Security to provide him with a report within two weeks.
According to him, the police have not been following up on many cases.
Mr. Golding said in some cases the police are unaware of instances in which children are returned to their homes.
The Prime Minister has announced the establishment of a taskforce to address the matter of violence against the country’s children.
More than 50 children have reportedly been killed violently since the start of the year and several groups and individuals have been calling for measures to deal with the crisis.
