Twenty-eight-year-old labourer Christopher Dixon, of Seaview Gardens, St Andrew, who is charged with the murder of 29-year-old psychic Safa Asuntuwa is to face a retrial on November 24.

The case was set for trial today in the Home Circuit Court.

The trial was put off because of a murder case, which began last week and continued into this week.

Dixon was convicted in June 2004 of the murder but the Court of Appeal ordered a retrial.

The Crown is alleging that Asuntuwa, who lived at Mount Joy in the hills of St Andrew, was beaten to death between June 24 and 25, 2002.

His body was found in a gully off the Cavaliers Main Road, St Andrew about 10: 30 a.m. on June 25, 2002.

It is being alleged that Dixon and another man were the last persons to have seen Aasuntuwa alive.
