The Electoral Commission of Jamaica (ECJ) is expected to name the country’s new Director of Elections in less than three weeks.

The Commission said it would make the announcement after its next meeting on November 4.

The final three of the 15 persons who applied for the post were interviewed yesterday.

Chairman of the ECJ, Professor Errol Miller, said the Acting Director Of Elections, Orette Fisher was among the interviewees.

Also short-listed was the Assistant Director of Field Operations, Earl Simpson.

An external applicant, Michael Verley was also interviewed.

Professor Miller said the only female who had expressed an interest in the position withdrew her application as she had obtained employment elsewhere.
