Opposition reviews government performance
The Opposition Peoples National Party is this afternoon slated to present its position on the government’s management of the country in the context of the global economy.
The PNP’s Council of Spokespersons will be holding a press conference to make known the findings of its assessment of the government’s first year in office.
During the party’s recent annual conference, PNP president Portia Simpson Miller indicated the Opposition’s willingness to partner with the government to devise economic strategies in response to the world financial crisis.
General Secretary Peter Bunting said representatives of the opposition and the government have held talks on the issue.
Even ahead of the release of the official review of the government’s performance over the last year, there have been indications from the PNP that it believes the government has failed miserably.
