No confidence motion filed against Montserrat chief minister

An independent legislator in Montserrat has lodged a no confidence motion against chief minister Lowell Lewis.



Mr. Lewis faces the no confidence motion on November 7, which has been lodged by a former holder of his office, David Brandt.



Mr. Brandt, who served under Dr. Lewis until February, now sits as an independent in the legislature.



In a statement, he said the British Government had made a formal complaint about the management of the territory\'s affairs.



Mr. Brandt singled out Dr Lewis for criticism.



He said bad management has characterized Mr. Lewis’ brief period at the helm of the country.
