The Ministry of Justice is embarking on several plans to improve the delivery of justice in the country.

Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Dorothy Lightbourne says the government is currently negotiating the purchase of several abandoned buildings downtown Kingston for use as courthouses.

She also says that the Justice Ministry is in discussion with the Mayor of Kingston, Desmond McKenzie to block off sections of Church Street and King’s Street to create safe zones around the courts.

She made the disclosure while addressing the 23rd Annual General Meeting of the Lay Magistrates’ Association in Kingston on the weekend.
