The United Union of Jamaica says it will be writing to the government regarding the working conditions for temporary and part time workers in the public sector.
Chairman of the union, James Francis says the union will also be seeking to have the government appoint temporary and part time workers to permanent positions.
Mr James says the union also wants government to put some measures in place, which will guarantee promotion for part time and temporary workers.
The chairman says this is necessary to ensure that the workers benefit from a pension when they have retired.
