The Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has ruled that a police constable implicated in the abduction of a 14 year old girl be charged with three criminal offences.
The DPP has ruled that the constable be charged with carnal abuse, indecent assault and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The policeman’s name is being withheld because he’s to face an identification parade in relation to the charge of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
The Kingston-based police constable was arrested on Saturday, in connection with the abduction of the teenager in Harbour View, Kingston 17.
The girl was taken from the gate of her house on Mortello Drive.
The Constabulary Communication Network (CCN) said she was standing at her gate with a friend when a white Toyota bus with three men drove up.
One of the men alighted with a gun in hand and ordered her into the vehicle, then drove away.
The girl has not been seen since.
The police are asking anyone with information to call 811, 119 or Crime Stop at 311.
