The Office of Disaster Preparedness and Emergency Management (ODPEM) is advising persons to avoid areas that are at risk from flooding and landslides

Among these areas are waterways, gullies, streams or rivers.

Director General at the ODPEM, Ronald Jackson, said already there have been reports of flooding in some sections of the Corporate Area.

The ODPEM also said persons should be ready to evacuate if they live in low-lying flood prone areas.

A small craft warning is in effect for offshore areas of the south coast due to strong winds and rough seas.
