The National Works Agency (NWA) said the Bog Walk Gorge in St. Catherine would remain closed at least until tomorrow.

The chief executive officer of the NWA, Milton Hodelin, said the floodwaters have receded in the gorge but a section of the roadway has been damaged.

Four other roadways remain impassable as result of the persistent rainfall.

In St. Andrew, the main road from Mount Airy to Coakley is impassable.

The Mount Zion parochial road and the Kintyre Ford are also blocked and the ford at Mahagony Vale in St. Thomas is impassable.

The NWA said up to this morning, it reopened 12 of the 17 roadways that were blocked.

However, the Maryland to Woodford thoroughfare in St. Andrew remains blocked.

Meanwhile, motorists using the main roads from Golden Spring to Mount Airy and Stony Hill to Parks Road in St. Andrew are being urged to exercise caution.

Both roads are now only open to single lane access in some sections because of landslides and the NWA said more slippages are possible.
