Solider implicated in club shooting not charged
The Jamaica Defence Force solider implicated in a shooting incident at the Double Diamond Night Club in Kingston on Heroes Day has been released from hospital.
He was released late last week and remains in police custody. However, investigators probing the incident are yet to question him.
The police say arrangements are being made with the soldier’s attorney to have him questioned later this week.
Post mortems on the bodies of the men who were killed are expected to be done later this week.
The police earlier reported that the solider was involved in a dispute with men at the club during which eight persons were shot, four fatally.
Security personnel reportedly shot the solider, as he left the club with a gun in hand.
Investigators say they have already collected over 40 statements from witnesses.
