‘Bungles’ to get trial date

A trial date is expected to be set when Police Superintendent Harry ‘Bungles’ Daley returns to the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate\'s Court today.



The senior cop had his bail extended when he last appeared in court on September 10.



He is charged with six counts of extortion and six counts of breaches of the Corruption Prevention Act.



Daley was held in Kingston in August during a sting operation in which he was allegedly seen collecting $15,000 from a businessman.



The Crown is alleging that between May 2007 and July 2008, the police superintendent collected a total of $65,000 from a businessman as protection money for a plaza at Ewarton in St Catherine.
