PCJ chairman fired
Another chairman of a government entity has been fired.
Ian Moore, who chaired the board of the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) was fired by Energy Minister Clive Mullings with immediate effect.
Efforts to contact the energy minister on the matter have so far proven unsuccessful.
Calls to Moore’s cellphone have gone unanswered.
However a member of the board confirmed the sudden dismissal.
The board member also said other members had still not been formally advised of the dismissal or whether more persons would be fired.
When our newscentre contacted Managing Director at the PCJ, Dr. Ruth Potopsingh we were told that she was in an emergency meeting.
Moore was appointed to chair the PCJ board in November last year.
His dismissal comes nearly a month after the previous 17-member board of the Urban Development Corporation was asked to resign by Mr. Golding after 10 members indicated that they were no longer prepared to work with then chairman Luis Williams.
