The second batch of hydroponics workers under the Canadian overseas work programme is scheduled to leave the island today.
The group of 13 men will be placed on two-year work contracts while in Canada.
They will be employed to Great Lakes Green House and Apollo Green House.
The first batch of 12 workers left for Canada in September.
The labour ministry says the workers are part of a request from the Jamaica Liaison Service in Canada to recruit 80 workers for the programme.
Labour minister Pearnel Charles says the workers are being given an opportunity to make better for themselves and their families.
He has urged them to hold the Jamaican flag high as they seek to endure the challenges that will face them in Canada.
