The commissioner of police, Rear Admiral Hardly Lewin, says the police have recorded a reduction in criminal activities involving gang members.

The police chief says the reduction is as a result of strategies, which have been put in place to deal with criminal gangs.

Rear Admiral Lewin says the police have also arrested more than 130 prominent gang members.

But, Admiral Lewin says, some have since been released on bail.

The commissioner says although there have been some improvements in the investigation of gang members, there are still some gaps.
