PNP urge Mullings to disclose PCJ liability
The People’s National Party wants the Energy Minister, Clive Mullings to disclose the scope of the liability incurred by the Petroleum Corporation of Jamaica (PCJ) in an unauthorised transaction undertaken by its former chairman.
Ian Moore was fired on Tuesday for what the energy minister said was his daily involvement in the operations of the PCJ.
According to Mr. Mullings, Moore exceeded his role as a non-executive board member.
It was also disclosed that Mr. Moore had incurred some level of liability regarding the recently launched E10 gasoline project.
Sources say it was on this basis that Mr. Moore was fired.
However, Opposition spokesman on energy Philip Paulwell said he is not satisfied with the explanation given by Mr. Mullings.
He is calling for the energy minister to provide more specific details on the matter.
He wants to know the exact amount of money lost by the PCJ in the transaction.
