The dead student is 16-year-old Shevon Johnson of Gregory Park, St Catherine, while another 16-year-old male student is in police lock up.
Johnson was killed at 9:00 a.m. yesterday morning in what the school said was an ongoing feud over a cell phone.
A statement from the school said the boys had on ongoing dispute over the phone, which was found, by one of Johnson’s friends a few weeks ago.
The dispute escalated yesterday and chairs were reportedly thrown at each other.
A knife was brought into play and Johnson was reportedly chased from his classroom down the stairs and stabbed twice.
He died on the spot.
The school says it will continue counselling session for students and members of staff who have been traumatised by the incident.
