Opposition says new choice for Director appropriate

Opposition spokesman on tourism, Dr Wyekham McNeill, said he believes Mr. Lynch’s experience makes him an appropriate choice for director of tourism.



Dr. McNeill is cautioning the government against reappointing him as chairman of the JTB board.



Last Tuesday, the entire board of the JTB resigned claiming that different strengths were needed to move Jamaica’s tourism forward in light of the global economic crisis.



Dr McNeill raised concern that Mr. Lynch would be hired as its executive chairman.



The tourism minister is today expected to name the members of the new board.
