Polyflex fire in St. Andrew

Fire fighters have extinguished a massive blaze at the Poly Flex Foam Factory off Waltham Park Road in St. Andrew.



It took more than two hours for firefighters from the Rollington Town, Trench Town, Spanish Town, Half Way Tree and York Park fire stations to put out the blaze.



It is understood that the fire started shortly after 2 this afternoon, towards the rear of the building.



Investigators are now trying to determine the cause of the blaze.



One employee of the factory said the fire started toward the back of the building after electricity was restored He said it caught foam material and quickly spread.



This afternoon several onlookers gathered at the gate of the factory as firefighters battled the blaze.
