The police have launched a manhunt for a prisoner who escaped from the New Market police lock up on Tuesday.

He is 26-year-old Terry ‘Andre’ Foster of Springvale district, St Elizabeth and Paradise, Norwood in St James.

Foster is facing two counts of murder.

The police say he was charged for the murder of 27-year-old Jerome Taylor of Granville and 24-year-old Shereda Crooks of Cornwall Court, both in St James.

Foster is of brown complexion, medium build and approximately 163 cm tall.

The police say Foster was among other prisoners during a shower break at the lock-up, but was discovered missing at lock down time.

The police had earlier reported that on August 7, about 12 noon residents discovered the bodies of Brooks and Taylor in bushes at Springvale in St Elizabeth.

Following investigations Foster was arrested on October 6, by the Black River police.

He was booked to appear in Black River Resident Magistrates court on December 10.

The police are urging anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Foster to call 311, 811, 119 or the Black River police at 965-2026.
