Barbados PM calls on US to help Haiti

The Prime Minister of Barbados David Thompson wants the incoming United States administration to pay attention to the needs of Haiti.
Mr. Thompson is calling for US President-elect Barack Obama to give priority to the troubled Caribbean country.
He said Haiti needs a new policy of infrastructure and institutional building, and an emergency programme to attend to the basic needs of the population.
Mr. Thompson said regional integration would not be complete without the full incorporation of Haiti into the CARICOM Single Market and Economy.
