Baugh announces new ambassador to Cuba
Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Dr. Kenneth Baugh, has announced the appointment of career Foreign Service Officer, A’Dale Robinson, as Ambassador to the Republic of Cuba.
Mr. Robinson is expected to take up office in January next year.
He succeeds Ambassador Elinor Sherlock, whose tour of duty will shortly come to an end.
Mr. Robinson is currently the Director of the Caribbean and Americas Department in the Ministry, which has responsibility for the management of Jamaica’s relations with Caribbean countries and regional and hemispheric organisations.
His appointment will take him to Cuba for a second time, having served as Chargé d’Affaires in 2004.
Since joining the Foreign Ministry in 1990, Mr. Robinson has also served as Counsellor in Jamaica’s Permanent Mission to the Organisation of American States, Washington DC.
