Jamaica\'s Customs Department is reporting that 29 pounds of ganja were seized at Kingston Wharves on the weekend.

It says a bolt cutter, which is used for removing seals from containers, was confiscated.

According to Jamaica Customs, the drug was packaged in 17 parcels.

They were recovered during an operation carried out by the Contraband Enforcement Team, the Narcotics Police and the Canine Division.

Jamaica Customs says 21 packages of ganja weighing about 10 pounds were found in a locker during a similar operation at the Shipping Association of Jamaica Recruitment Facility.

Commissioner of Customs, Danville Walker said the operations are part of an increased drive to stem the flow of contraband into the country.
