Kenny Anthony re-elected

Former Prime Minister of St. Lucia Dr. Kenny Anthony has been re-elected to lead the main opposition St. Lucia Labour Party.



Dr. Anthony was re-elected by a vote of 213 to 3 at a closed-door convention of the party, over the weekend.



The result of the secret ballot, which is called for by the party’s constitution, was greeted with jubilation by the delegates.



Anthony says he is buoyed by the display of confidence, following the loss of the general elections.



Other key positions of leadership of the opposition party’s executive remained unchanged.
