BITU and SADco to sign new agreement
The Bustamante Industrial Trade Union and the Management (BITU) of the St Ann Development Company (SADco) are set to sign a new salary and fringe-benefit packages for several categories of workers.
SADco is a division of the Urban Development Corporation.
The BITU’s Assistant Island Supervisor, George Nicolas, says the agreement, which is to be signed today, will affect seven different entities.
He adds that the workers will receive a 22 per cent increase over two years, similar to that granted to public sector workers recently.
More than four hundred clerical, line staff, daily paid and casual workers and other groups stand to benefit from the new agreement.
The workers are attached to Dunn’s River, Green Grotto, Turtle River Park and the St Ann Water Company.
