Portland cops remanded
Two members of the security forces who are charged with breaches of the Anti- Corruption Act are to again appear in the Buff Bay Resident Magistrates Court today.
Special corporal Marsha Dennis and Corporal Dennis Richards were both remanded when they appeared in court yesterday.
The two were arrested on December 15, after they allegedly collected $12,000 from a motorist, who was stopped and searched during a routine spot check near Port Antonio.
The police report that contraband was found in the vehicle, and the money was paid over to the two police personnel.
Investigators say the motorist was sent on his way, but was again stopped in Manchioneal by a police party where he related his story.
Both Dennis and Richards were pointed out during identification parades.
