Obama cleared

An internal review has cleared United States President-elect Barack Obama\'s team of any wrongdoing in relation to the intended sale of Obama’s vacant senate seat by Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich.

The review has indicated that neither Obama nor his team had inappropriate discussions with Mr. Blagojevich.

However Obama’s Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel is said to have talked to Blagojevich about who should fill the senate seat.

Blagojevich has been accused of attempting to sell the seat, but says he is not guilty of any wrongdoing.

The review reveals that the US Attorney leading the Blagojevich probe also spoke to Obama as part of his investigation.

The internal review was conducted by Greg Craig, a legal adviser to Obama.
