Investigators in St James say they will be seeking to find the promoter of a party in the parish during which a man was killed on Wednesday night.

The police will also be seeking to determine whether permission was granted for the event.

Kimani ‘Bread Back’ Manderson, 20, of Meggie Hill, in Salt Spring, was shot dead during a New Year’s party in the community.

The police say about 12:10 a.m. Manderson was at the party in Salt Spring with a group of men celebrating the New Year.

According to the police, persons in the crowd were reportedly giving gun salutes when Manderson was hit.

Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Area One, Denver Frater says detectives are treating the incident as a serious offence.
