The court case involving Kirk Patrick Watt, 37, is has been pushed back to January 9.

At that time a bail application is to be made by Mr Watt’s attorney.

Mr Watt appeared in the Gun Court this morning on charges of robbery kidnapping and illegal possession of a firearm, when the matter was put off.

He is the son of the Director of the Finance Ministry’s Memorandum of Understanding Secretariat, Verline Hyacinth Watt, who was freed of drug possession charges on Wednesday.

Kirk Patrick Watt who was arrested and charged on Tuesday remains in police custody.

The charges stemmed from the kidnapping of a man along North Street in downtown Kingston earlier this month.

The man was allegedly taken to Tivoli Gardens where he was held for two days.

He was then reportedly taken to a house in Constant Spring St. Andrew and tied up.

The man was allegedly forced to call a friend and when the friend went to the premises he too was tied up and both men were placed in a room at the back of the house.

The men managed to free themselves and reports were made to the police.

During a search of the premises, Mrs Watt was implicated after the police found a white substance they thought was cocaine.
