The driver of the ill-fated truck, which was involved in an accident in Portland last month, which claimed 14 lives is expected back in court today.

Christopher Devon Clarke, 31, of Portland has been charged with 14 counts of manslaughter.

He is also facing charges of reckless driving and failing to report an accident to the police.

Clarke was offered bail in the sum of $1 million when he appeared in the Port Antonio Resident Magistrate’s Court last week Tuesday.

He was charged last Monday following an identification parade where he was pointed out as the driver of the truck.

Clarke was reportedly transporting vendors in a truck from Portland to the Coronation market in Kingston on December 19 when the accident occurred.

The market truck reportedly plunged over a precipice at Dam Bridge in the Rio Grande Valley killing 14 people including a 10 year old boy.

Some of the victims are to be buried this weekend.
