GG expresses gratitude

Outgoing Governor General Professor Sir Kenneth Hall has expressed gratitude to the government for the support he received during his three-year tenure in that position.



Speaking this morning during the National Leadership Prayer Breakfast Sir Kenneth who was seen wiping tears also thanked the People’s National Party for selecting him as the country’s fifth Governor General:



In his last message read by Lady Rheima Hall, Sir Kenneth pointed to the need for both political parties to unite in order for the country to overcome the challenges caused by crime and other social ills:



The Prime Minister Bruce Golding officially announced Sir Kenneth’s resignation on Tuesday.



The President of the West Indies Union of Seventh Day Adventists Dr. Patrick Allen has since been selected as the next Governor General.



He is to be sworn in at Kings House on February 26.
