PNP call for child protection

Opposition Leader Portia Simpson-Miller has again emphasised the need for greater focus on child protection this year.



Mrs. Simpson Miller says too many innocent lives were lost to violence in 2008.



The opposition leader wants the state to do more to ensure the security of children.



Police statistics for last year have shown that 94 children were murdered last year.



National Security Minister ,Colonel Trevor McMillan is also stressing the need for the country to unite in a bid to control the escalating crime rate.
