Issues affecting Jamaicans and other Caribbean nationals are to be discussed during a meeting of Regional leaders with United States President Barrack Obama in April.

Mr. Obama was sworn in earlier today as the 44th president of the US.

Prime Minister Bruce Golding told the House of Representatives that he has assured President Obama of the continued commitment and support of the Jamaican government.

Mr. Golding said discussions with the US president would take place during the Summit of the Americas scheduled for April 17 to 19 in Trinidad and Tobago.

In this regard Mr. Golding said he would meet with a number of CARICOM leaders in Barbados next week in order to develop the agenda of issues on US Caribbean relations for discussion.
