An early adjournment was granted today at the trial of 25-year-old Sheldon Pusey who is charged with the murder of Ambassador Peter King.

The adjournment was granted to allow the jury to watch the inauguration of Barack Obama as the first African-American president.

The jurors had asked Senior Puisne Judge Marva McIntosh on Monday to be given time off to watch the inauguration on television.

Two witnesses have so far testified at the trial, which began yesterday in the Home Circuit Court.

The Crown represented by prosecutors Caroline Hay and Dahlia Findlay is alleging that King was stabbed several times at his Waterloo Road apartment, New Kingston between March 19 and 20, 2006.

In outlining the case yesterday, the prosecutor said the body had 30 injuries.

King\'s former driver and estate manager testified today that he worked with the late trade ambassador for ten years and during the period he was promoted from assistant gardener to estate manager.

He said about 6:40 on the evening of March 19, 2006 he went to King\'s house and he saw a pair of shoes at the doorway that did not belong to King or another employee who was there at the time.

The witness will continue his testimony when the trial resumes tomorrow.
