Henry accuses PNP of neglect
Transport Minister Mike Henry is slated to today receive his fourth and final report into the December 19 traffic accident, which left 14 people dead in the Rio Grande Valley in Portland.
Addressing the post cabinet press briefing yesterday, the transport minister said he has already received three reports on the accident.
Mr. Henry said he will also be meeting today with a team from the Island Transport Authority and the National Works Agency to analyse the findings of this last report.
According to the minister, he is examining all the factors surrounding the crash, including the state of the road and issues surrounding the driver of the truck.
Henry also announced that money will be allocated in the 2009-2010 budget to repair roads in the area.
He also blamed the People’s National Party administration for what he said was the neglect of Portland communities during the 18 years that party ruled.
