Two policemen charged for the murder of a youth in Kingston last year August are expected back in court today.

Constables Audley Lawrence and Andre Hare are charged with the murder of Cartlon Grant Jr son of dancehall artiste Cartlon Grant, popularly called ‘Spragga Benz’.

Grant was killed on August 23 in what police said was a shootout in Downtown Kingston.

It’s alleged that Grant and another boy were riding a bicycle on their way to downtown Kingston when the police stopped them.

According to the police, Grant was shot after he pulled a gun and opened fire on them.

However, eyewitnesses have refuted the claim.

The policemen were charged following a ruling from the Director of Public Prosecutions.

They were each offered bail in the sum of $350,000 when they appeared in the Home Circuit court last month.
