Prince Vale, 25, who was last month found guilty of killing Anglican priest Father Richard Johnson is to be sentenced today.

Vale who was charged with murder was found guilty of the lesser offence of manslaughter.

Defence lawyer Melrose Reid had requested that a social enquiry report be presented to the court before Vale’s sentencing.

Father Johnson was stabbed several times at his Anglican Church rectory in Stony Hill, St Andrew on November 12, 2006.

There was no witness to the murder.

On his arrest, Vale told the police in November 2006 and that he stabbed the priest because he was forcing him to be intimate with him.

Vale made a similar claim in his unsworn statement in court.
