Businessman murdered

The St. Andrew North police are yet to establish a motive for last night’s killing of well known businessman John Aird, 58, at his home in Smokey Vale, St. Andrew.



The police say they were alerted after residents heard explosions sometime after 8 p.m.



Reports are that Mr. Aird’s body was found lying on the lawn in front of his house with multiple gunshot wounds.



The police say although Mr. Aird’s licensed firearm seemed to have been stolen, they believe there were other reasons for his death.



Mr. Aird who operated a gas station, had an ongoing civil case in court regarding a robbery at one of his establishments.
