Robber killed in Westmoreland
The Bureau of Special Investigations is probing the circumstances under which a 38 year old man was killed by a licensed firearm holder in Westmoreland this morning.
He’s Edmond McIntosh of Fort Williams in the parish.
The police said the man was killed after he attacked the licensed firearm holder with a crowbar at his shop at Chantilly about 2 a.m.
The police report that the licensed firearm holder was making a delivery at his shop when he was confronted by a gunman who demanded money.
The businessman reportedly pulled his firearm and a gun battle ensued between the men.
The police said the gunman escaped.
Further reports are that the businessman later heard strange sounds coming from inside his shop and went to investigate.
The police said he was attacked by a man with a crowbar inside the shop.
The businessman then pulled his licensed gun and shot the man.
