Falmouth wharf stop order lifted

The stop order placed on the multibillion dollar Falmouth Wharf Development by the Trelawny Parish Council has been lifted.

The parish council had issued the order after it claimed the developers did not communicate proof of ownership for the structures being demolished.

Mayor of Falmouth, Collin Gager, said he received the required documentation yesterday.

When news of the work stoppage broke, irate residents who welcomed the development as a boost to the Trelawny economy, were angered at the council’s decision.

However, the mayor reiterated his support for the development.

The structures being demolished are located on Upper Harbour Street in the town.
