Old Harbour gun suspect remains in custody
The man held in connection with a large gun and ammunition find in Old Harbour, St. Catherine on Sunday night is to spend another 9 days in police custody.
43 year old Courtney Anthony Jones, a taxi operator of Montego Bay was yesterday charged with illegal possession of firearm.
He’s to answer to the charges in the Gun Court on Friday February 20.
If convicted, he could face up to 15 years in prison.
Jones, who is said to be a major player in the guns for drugs trade was arrested shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday, during a Kingfish led operation.
The police had earlier reported that eight firearms including two rifles, four pistols and two revolvers were found in the vehicle he was driving.
They said 99 assorted rounds of ammunition were also found.
