The National Works Agency (NWA) said it has not been able to reopen some roads in St Catherine and St Mary, which have been blocked by landslides.

Communications Manager Steven Shaw said the agency is working to have the roadway from Natural Bridge to Troja in St Catherine reopened before the end of the day.

The roads from Harewood to John Crow Spring, Troja to Retirement and Jambos to Pond in St Catherine are also still blocked.

Mr Shaw said the Alleppo Heights parochial road in St Mary has been closed, as a section of that roadway has collapsed.

He said a section of the Montreal to Top Derry Road has also collapsed and is now impassable.

Mr Shaw is advising drivers of heavy-duty vehicles not to use the roadway from Richmond to Rose Hill in the parish.

He said a section of the roadway has collapsed.

However the agency has been able to reopen some roads, which were blocked in St Mary and St Catherine.
