Lawyer to make submissions in King case
The lawyer for the 26 year old man accused of murdering Ambassador Peter King will today make submissions in Court as the trial approaches an end.
Berry Bryan will make the submissions in the absence of the 12-member jury.
Sheldon Pusey has been on trial for the Ambassador’s murder since January 19.
Yesterday, the Crown closed its case.
During the three-week-and-a-half-week trial, 17 Crown witnesses were called to the stand.
The Crown tried to prove that Pusey stabbed and chopped Ambassador King at his home between March 19 and 20, 2006.
Pusey’s lawyer is claiming that King was killed in self-defence when he made sexual advances on his 26 year old client.
During the trial, one policeman testified that Pusey confessed to cutting King’s throat.
The policeman also told the court that Pusey\'s lawyer Berry Bryan was present when the confession was made.
However, under cross-examination Bryan suggested that he was not present when Pusey made the statement.
