The Broadcasting Commission is vowing not to back down in its effort to prevent inappropriate content from hitting the airwaves.

The Commission has already imposed a ban on violent and sexually explicit songs.

Its chairman Dr Hopeton Dunn said other broadcast materials are now being assessed.

According to Dr Dunn, all inappropriate content including soca and rap will be banned.

The Broadcasting Commission has been criticised for being too slow in cleaning up the airwaves.

Dr. Dunn said the Commission took a decision to deal with the problem in a measured way.
