St Catherine man faces death sentence
A 20 year old St Catherine man faces the possibility of being sentenced to death after he was convicted of a triple murder yesterday.
After retiring for three hours, a 12-member Home Circuit Court jury returned the guilty verdict for Romain ‘Puggo’ Thomas.
Supreme Court Judge Paulette Williams has put off sentencing until March 6.
The prosecution led evidence that on February 22, 2004, Thomas went to Watson Grove, Portmore, St. Catherine and killed two men and a woman.
The sole eyewitness only knew the deceased by their aliases.
Photographs of the deceased were shown to the witness in court and he identified them.
He said he saw Thomas firing shots at them on the date of the murders.
One of the deceased was a Rastafarian man called Paul Henry or Matlock.
The other man was Anthony ‘Teo’ Hunter and his girlfriend Cleta Atkinson.
Thomas, who is from Central Village, St Catherine denied being involved in any shooting incident.
