Carib Cement has announced that the price of cement is to go down in rural parishes as of Monday.
This means that the price for the product will be the same across the island.
It’s costing about five per cent more to by cement in Western Jamaica compared with the corporate area and two per cent more in the centre of the island.
The marketing manager at Carib Cement, Alice Hyde said the price cut is the result of savings realized though increased efficiency at the plant.
The new Carib Cement Kiln represents a multi million-dollar investment.
