Education ministry to finalise feeding grants

The Education Ministry said it expects to complete the disbursement of outstanding school feeding vouchers and PATH grants by next week Monday.
Yesterday, the opposition PNP said it had received reports from some schools indicating that there was a drop in attendance of students on the Programme For Advancement Through Health and Education (PATH).
Chief Education Officer, Jasper Lawrence, siad the delay in disbursements was due in part to errors in information submitted by some schools for electronic processing.
He said for the first time the ministry sent the grants to the schools’ accounts electronically and 11 with accounts at First Caribbean Bank and nine with accounts at RBTT were rejected.
